MORE Free Christmas Music Downloads!

More free songs from Amazon. I found some good stuff today.

Here’s Mr. Heatmiser by Big Bad Voodoo Daddy. This is just a fun, silly song, but not annoyingly silly.  Ok, it could get annoying if it was played over and over again, but once at a party would be great. And it would be good on a kid’s Christmas mix.

I Heard The Bells On Christmas Day by Casting Crowns. Kind of cheesy, anthem-y, but I like it for Christmas.

Christmas Song by Mogwai is one of those ultra slow songs that I really love to listen to as I’m falling asleep.  I think it could almost be classified as slowcore. A term I first read on 3hive (check out 3hive’s archives of slowcore) where I downloaded my all time favorite before-bed song, Games Again by Peter Broderick. Games Again just brings my heart rate riiiiiiiiight doooooown.*

O’Carolan’s/Welcome Christmas by Alison Brown Quartet with Joe Craven is a nice, mellow, cheery Christmas song.

All Wrapped Up In Christmas by Tracy Lawrence is somewhat cheery with a major country twang. ’salright.

Boogaloo Santa Claus by J.D. McDonald. Get your Christmas boogaloo on! Fun, little soul song. Play it while you’re getting a holiday dinner ready to get yourself in the boogaloo mood.

Slower Than Christmas by The Boxmasters. Ha! If you can at all relate to having a dysfunctional family or if you are in a bah-hum-bug mood about Christmas this year, this song is for you! It cracks me up.

May you enjoy your Christmas season even if you just enjoy feeling cantankerous about it.

More music tomorrow!

*Although this is a total digression from the Christmas music theme, its relevant in that winter time, (in the northern hemisphere) is a time when all of nature longs to slooowww down, and Christmas can be a frenetic holiday, so some slowcore Christmas songs might be just the ticket for unwinding on a long winter’s night.
