My friend sent me a link to get a free astrology birth chart. I was hesitant because I didn’t want the description it would spit out about me to inaccuratelly infect how I think about myself, but I was also curious, so I looked at it anyway.

With apologies to those of you who believe in astrology, here is my brief rant: I think astrology is such bunk! You could read anything and find yourself in it somewhere! If it had any power of predictability, you would be able to take a personality test and it would accurately predict your sign. That is not the case. Rather, inverse reasoning is used and people who believe in astrology use your sign to predict your personality! That just doesn’t make sense! Ok, rant over, rest of post commencing.

I got my “reading” and I loved it! It is always delightful to recognize parts of myself and I think that’s why people love astrology. No matter what horoscope you pick, some part of it will reflect the real you back to you, and you will have the delight of recognition.

(For another post someday: I think a big part of loving and feeling loved is accurately mirroring, and being accurately mirrored by someone who holds you in positive regard. Then you get to be known and liked. Bonus!)

You love to be the center of attention and you want to appear strong, confident and dominant. Actually, I like to be even with others. I don’t like people to dominate me, and if someone seems at all intimidated by me, I go out of my way to let them know that I’m “even” with them (rather than dominant) to make them feel comfortable. You are very proud of yourself, sometimes quite vain even. When all around you are bedraggled and falling apart, you look like a million bucks! :D funny…

Very dignified and honorable, you enjoy the power and privilege, but not the responsibilities, that come with leadership. It depends. I don’t like administrative tasks, it’s true. But I love some responsibilitites of being a leader, like coming up with strategy, getting input from people, facilitating meetings…

You are very idealistic but can also be quite stubborn. Others impress you only if they have integrity (but wealth, power and influence can also turn your head). I find most people impressive in some way. Integrity, kindness, and intelligence top the charts, but even if someone is lacking all of those and is good at something, or has overcome something, I still find that impressive

You prefer rich, elegant surroundings and possessions, and will try to acquire them as your budget allows. Elegant but simple and sustainable actually. By nature, you are very energetic and high-spirited. yep! You are fiercely independent true in a way, I’m a very independant thinker, but I sometimes think of someone who is “independant” as wanting to do everything on their own, whereas I have learned to gladly accept help people offer! — you must be first in everything you do, and you enjoy taking risks. You are the one who will rush in where angels fear to tread. Hmmmm….  are these very wimpy angels? I’m not currently sky diving or anything, but I have stood up for justice in risky situations.

Quite brilliant at initiating new projects, you are terrible at following them through to completion. This is probably somewhat true to my nature, but I have many a completed project and several degrees to my name, so I can complete projects. You are an enthusiastic leader but you tend to be a reluctant follower. I’m a picky follower. I think for myself, and tend not to believe someone just because they have a position of authority, but when I admire a leader, I can be quite a hard worker and loyal part of the team..

Often you are quick to anger, but you usually recover just as fast, regretting later things you said when you were upset. One of your best traits is that you are simple and direct, blunt and honest — just be careful you do not hurt others’ feelings. Your need to be competitive at all costs may provoke resistance from others, but, as long as you maintain your usual Sunny good humor, this should not prove to be a major problem for you. Hmmm… like most people, I can get angry, and I do regret things I’ve said when I was upset, and I can be competetive, but none of this is *particularly* true for me.

You tend to be serious-minded but cheerful for the most part. You need tasks that engage both your mind and your hands. A careful worker, you enjoy making things. You are neat and orderly, and are very concerned with good health habits.

Fastidious to the extreme, you cannot tolerate messes and will immediately clean them up. Ha!!

Reserved, shy, yes, out going AND shy. I’m a bundle of contraditions (as, I suspect, are you. :) we complicated humans, and very self-critical, you tend to be very hard on yourself. You usually will go out of your way to be helpful and useful to others.

Practical, reliable, efficient and conservative, SOMETIMES at times you are a bit of a prude. sadly true. (I’m also quite passionate, but that is for me to know and not very many other people to find out ;) You are known to lead a simple, uncomplicated, frugal, methodical and unemotional ! You love to debate and argue, usually in a spirit of friendly disagreement. Used to be true, but I hate hurting other people’s feelings, and my feelings can get hurt if someone is a mean debater, so it is the rare person I enjoy debating with, but when I get the chance to debate with someone who won’t be hurt or hurtful, I do enjoy it like I enjoy a game. But watch out that you do not get too overly aggressive or antagonistic or others will be quick to take offense where none may have really been intended. That is the danger of debating with some people, which is why I usually avoid it.

You need to be in constant physical motion Well, not constant, but I do love to move.– sports or daily exercise and dancing, what about dancing? is a must for you if you are to feel fit and healthy.

You are at your best when you give of yourself and what you have this is a tricky one. When am I at my best? I think I’m at my best when I have to think on my feet, work with others, and do something creative, I don’t think I would be at my best in traditional “helping” professions. – try to avoid being a martyr about it, though. You’re a true idealist, but you must learn not to be upset when life does not cooperate with the way you think things should be. very true
