The Bible says unhappiness in the marriage is grounds for divorce ( well, I thought it did - but I can't find a passage for it now) - but where does the unhappiness come from?

  - Is it really abuse? (emotional, betrayal, or otherwise)
  - Is it the spouse is not willing to really listen?
(or there is not a real bond between the two)
  - Is it unrealistic or unmet expectations?

Life is for happiness - I think if we really go the extra mile in a marriage and it fails at least we'll know that we can walk away without regret.

I have a 4 quadrant theory - 3 quadrants don't make for a happy marriage - only 1 does - mutual love - the other 3 quadrants - I am loved but do not love - I love but am not loved - neither of us loves (a marriage of convenience for both)
