Map my run

Looking for places to walk in your neighborhood? Want to know how long your usual walking route is?

Check out Map My Run. I found it when I was looking for a way to find out how long it would take me to walk, not drive, from my office to a doctor’s office. It was very handy. Now it looks like you can find established walking, biking, running routes in your area as well.

  1. I like Map My Run - I’ve used it for over two years. Just a small caveat - verify the map with reality if you intend to walk or run an unfamiliar route. You can also verify using satelite mode with map overlay. For a smaller city such as one where I live the maps may reflect future plans or scrapped plans. In my area I found two streets showing a connection that does not exist in reality.

  2. Thanks for the tip, Toonhead! I’ve had that problem once before when using google maps for directions. It actually suggested that I drive through a field, which I did! I think Map My Run uses google maps so that makes sense.
